Frontier Energy is a professional consulting firm that specializes in energy efficiency and advanced energy solutions for industrial, residential, multifamily, and commercial buildings, food service, transportation, and next generation grid. We design, implement, and evaluate programs that help our clients achieve their goals.
The Program Manager will lead one or more programs that delivery energy efficiency consulting services to utility end-use customers. Current opportunities are focused on programs and services for energy efficiency and electrification projects in commercial, existing single family and multifamily buildings. This includes individual project support, working with large portfolios of individual projects, and implementing aligned program activities for contractor engagement, customer recruitment, and project incentives and financing. In addition to general advancement of resource efficiency, anticipated projects will benefit from an attention to issues of equity and access, with a focus on diverse communities and interests that are traditionally underserved. Though each project will have its own specific set of goals and objectives, Program Manager skills may include, but are not limited to:
- Exemplary Program Execution: Delivers exemplary program or individual project execution by understanding, developing and implementing efficiencies in program processes, assignment of tasks, and maintenance and upkeep of program documentation. Regularly engages in monitoring and corrective actions with program staff to ensure high standards and alignment with key performance indicators.
- Operational Efficiency and Quality Assurance: Enhances project execution by identifying and implementing efficiencies in work processes, breakdown structures, and documentation. Regularly engages in monitoring and corrective actions to ensure high standards and alignment with key performance indicators.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Drives successful project outcomes through active collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Provides mentorship and staff development within program scope. Continually assesses and improves project and program performance through detailed analysis and feedback loops.
- Deliver Growth: Leverages deep industry knowledge to anticipate and meet client needs, with the ability to understand Frontier’s solutions and align those solutions with client goals and industry trends.
- Relationship Building: Ability to create work for other teams using strong client relationships and maintain strong relationships with key contacts over extended periods of time.
- Establish, Maintain, and Communicate Value: Develops plans, projects, proposals, and presentations across teams, stakeholders, and partners to translate concepts to client value.
- Essential Budget Skills: Review budget and scope of work break-downs with program staff and direct reports to ensure deliverables, milestones, and budgets are met.
- Effective Communication: Contributes to a generative, inclusive environment through active listening where everyone feels heard and empowered to learn. Provides accountability in areas of control through respectful and constructive means. Sets tone for productive collaboration, prioritizes efficiently, delivers on time, and sets expectations effectively. Strives for an exemplary standard for professionalism. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to create written work product that requires minimal review by senior staff.
This is hybrid position with a heavy on-premise presence at our location in Chanhassen, MN. Travel inside the local program areas is required.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years’ experience running large or complex programs, preferably in the energy efficiency space.
- Experience recruiting applicants for program participation.
- Experience supporting direct reports and or managing teams
- Excellent skills with MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook®, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows® operating systems
- Able to accommodate up to 50% travel time outside of work hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from ABET/EAC/ANSAC/ACS – accredited program institution.
Highly Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Solid understanding of energy efficiency and building science fundamentals
- Experience overseeing any of the following program activities: Direct install teams, energy audit activities, rebate processing, program outreach
- Strong data analysis and qualitative skills, including performing QA/QC of large data sets and working with large data arrays, complex logic statements, and index match/v-look up among other functions.
- Experience with local government agencies, Minnesota regulatory agencies, and regional and state level utility stakeholders
- Experience working with issues of access and equity for energy and water affordability, either through policy activities or engagement with communities that are traditionally underserved
