Software Engineer Automation (Remote)

Wolkk is currently seeking a talented Software Engineer with experience in C# and .NET to join our dynamic team. As a Software Engineer (Automation), you will be integral to our client’s mission, developing state-of-the-art software for the world’s largest manufacturer of chillers. This role demands more than just programming skills; it requires a deep understanding of mechatronics and/or robotics to enhance the performance and sustainability of their systems. Working under the Global Director of Controls Engineering, you’ll be instrumental in evolving their legacy systems and shaping future innovations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain control software for advanced chiller systems using C# and .NET technologies
• Integrate software solutions with mechatronic and robotic systems to optimize performance and sustainability.
• Working closely with the Global development team to support local operations.
• Focus on hands-on programming and problem-solving to improve both existing and next-generation chiller controls.
• Work with SQL databases to design, develop, and maintain data structures and queries.
• Create and consume RESTful APIs to enable seamless communication between different components of the application.
• Collaborate with a small, specialized team responsible for critical troubleshooting and ‘firefighting’ to ensure system reliability and performance
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve development processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field, with at least 5 years’ experience in industrial software development.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on C# and .NET development.
• Familiarity with C++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages is advantageous.
• Familiarity with mechatronics and/or robotics.
• Strong background in PLC programming and HMI application development.
• Experience in full software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
