About PoMA: PoMA aims to support the most vulnerable members of society, who are often marginalized, with a focus on women and children, refugees and displaced persons, conflict environments, and trauma-affected populations. With a community and population-led approach, we provide accessible, culturally relevant, and sustainable mental health services to those experiencing psychological symptoms. We emphasize the holistic functionality of individuals and communities to create enabling environments and facilitate the reintegration of those receiving support. Additionally, we strengthen the mental health care and social care infrastructures in conflict-affected countries across many regions globally. Our collective interdisciplinary -led team possesses the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver contextualized, culturally applicable, and evidence-informed mental health services to governments, communities, families, organizations, committees, systems, and individuals worldwide. We address multifaceted challenges and respond to needs to ensure conditions and cycles do not repeat, giving people opportunities to seek support and help.
About the Role: We are seeking a clinical project manager with a background in mental health, psychology, or social sciences to lead the global PoMA team. The clinical project manager will be responsible for leading a team of practitioners who will be providing evidence-informed psychological support for global communities and populations with a specific supervisory role for ongoing programs in MENA and Afghanistan.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise clinical providers and teams throughout Afghanistan and MENA.
- Travel to provide in country trainings and clinical support to programs in MENA and Afghanistan.
- Develop content and provide evidence informed psychological capacity development for community providers
- Collaborate with PoMA research team and evaluation specialist for program reporting and monitoring.
- Facilitate coordination amongst stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams.
- Review and revise mental health safeguarding practices to ensure “do no harm” policies are practiced.
- Contribute to global mental health framework and systems development with PoMA global teams.
- Explore and support initiatives and global mental health programs, both clinical and research opportunities.
Appliable Criteria & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, or alternative training or education in mental health or social sciences. Masters degree strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience providing clinical services in international settings with diverse populations.
- Training in and experience implementing mental health, evidence-informed practices, and applicable psychological approaches.
- Clinical supervision experience and knowledge of the EQUIP platform preferred.
- Knowledge of applied research and science
- Fluency in English.
