BC Bioenergy Network (BCBN) is a not-for-profit association that champions bioenergy, biofuel, and bioproduct projects in British Columbia. BCBN funds innovative technologies, facilitates partnerships, and publishes strategic bioenergy reports. BCBN is involved in the BC SMART Low Carbon Fuels initiative, a coalition of stakeholders focused on decarbonizing long-distance transportation. The organization also publishes a monthly newsletter, hosts monthly webinars, and organizes an annual awards event.

About the Role:
As a key member of BC Bioenergy Network (BCBN), this role is vital to the successful implementation and management of our projects and programs. Your contributions will support the development and launch of micro-credit courses, advancing innovative bioenergy solutions, making a significant impact on decarbonizing long-distance transportation and clean fuel technologies. 

This is a full-time 18-month contract with the potential for extension based on funding availability.

Goals and Success Factors:

  • Successfully launch and manage digital curriculum for micro-credential courses in Life Cycle Assessment of Clean Fuels.
  • Ensure the quality and timely delivery of curriculum content.
  • Facilitate strong partnerships with universities, subject matter experts, and government entities.
  • Efficiently manage project timelines, budgets, tracking and reporting.
  • Enhance collaboration and information sharing across the bioenergy network.

Project Management:

  • Oversee all phases of digital curriculum development for micro-credential courses, from concept to launch and ongoing development.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to draft and validate curriculum content.
  • Manage partners, timelines, budgets, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ensure consistency with policy and regulations in collaboration with government entities.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to assess outcomes, identify successes, and highlight areas for improvement.

Research and Network Development:

  • Conduct research to support BCBN activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
  • Attend and contribute to local, national, and international conferences and workshops.
  • Assist in preparing funding applications for grants and other sources.
  • Foster collaboration and information sharing within the network.

Meeting and Event Management:

  • Contribute to event coordination, logistics, hosting, and setup.
  • Assist in planning and organizing the annual awards event.
  • Prepare agendas and take notes during meetings.
  • Remote role (based in BC, preferably in the Vancouver area for ease of travel)
  • $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field, or a good understanding/ interest in the bioenergy and clean fuel field is preferred. 
  • Proven experience in Project Management, Curriculum Development, Program Administration, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and developing Gantt charts.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thrive in a small team environment with the willingness to pitch in where needed
  • Experience working with a not-for-profit is useful 
  • Reliable, team player with a professional demeanor.
