Overview
Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. TSS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.
About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead and oversee the implementation of grants management and technical assistance projects for our Federal Government agency customer. The Project Manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality results, on time and within budget, while aligning with customer’s strategic goals. Responsibilities include managing cross-functional teams, supporting pre-award and post-award grant activities, and ensuring compliance with Federal regulations.
The Project Manager will play a key role in facilitating effective communication, risk management, and issue resolution. This role involves regular interactions with senior leadership, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure alignment with the customer’s mission and priorities.
This is a fully remote position based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones as per the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Monitor project progress and adjust resources as necessary to ensure successful completion.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes, keeping the project on track.
- Facilitate regular project status meetings and prepare progress reports for senior leadership.
- Develop and implement a Program Management Plan (PMP) that outlines contract management approaches, including control policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and risk and quality management processes.
- Prepare and deliver Monthly Status Reports that include technical performance, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction indicators, ensuring these reports are delivered on time and discussed during follow-up meetings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational and client goals.
- Mentor and guide junior project team members.
- Ensure compliance with all project-related policies, procedures, and standards.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 7 years of project management experience, preferably in grants management or related fields.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects simultaneously.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Recent work experience in a US Federal Government agency is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or Jira.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience managing contracts that require quick transitions or “Day One” readiness.
- Experience with integrated risk management processes.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field required.
- PMP certification or similar credentials preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
