Senior Applications Specialist – Dry Strength
Are you passionate about innovation and making an impact in the Pulp & Paper industry? Do you enjoy collaborating with teams across Europe to drive success? We are looking for a Senior Applications Specialist to join our dynamic Solenis Applications & Platform Launch Team in EMEA, focusing on Dry Strength.
Location: Home or office/plant based in Europe

All candidates must be eligible to work in Europe. Please be aware that we do not offer a relocation package if you are considering relocating. We do not provide visa support for this role.
Your Role: As an Applications Specialist, you will:
  • Provide expert applications support to our EMEA Pulp & Paper sales team, with a focus on the Packaging and Graphical & Specialty markets.
  • Share insights with our Marketing team on market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Lead new dry strength projects in partnership with our commercial sales teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve existing technologies and develop new solutions.
  • Engage in innovative R&D initiatives and support the launch and promotion of new products.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to empower our sales force with the knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Create valuable materials and reports, such as Product Data Sheets, training packages, and case histories.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting support to ensure customer satisfaction.
What You Bring:
  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paper Engineering, or substantial experience in the paper-making process.
  • Knowledge of synthetic and/or organic strengthening agents and experience applying chemicals on paper machines.
  • Background in the Pulp & Paper industry is mandatory with significant experience in wet end chemistry—a great plus if you know retention aid chemistry.
  • An awareness of the commercial aspects of paper manufacture and ability to identify key value propositions
  • Experience in sales and providing field support to paper customers, particularly in the relevant markets.
  • Charisma, drive, and ownership—while this isn’t a sales job, you’ll be ‘selling’ ideas and need to be comfortable dealing with machinery and taking the lead on initiatives.
  • A collaborative spirit, with strong skills in teamwork, flexibility, communication, and organization.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in an international, intercultural environment (approx. 60-70% of the time)
