Php Developer (Remote)

We are seeking a PHP Developer to contribute to our backend development efforts for a variety of web projects, primarily utilizing WordPress and Laravel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PHP programming, building custom WordPress themes and plugins, and working with Laravel to create sophisticated web applications. You will collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality projects that meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring compatibility with the latest versions of WordPress.
• Build and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems using Laravel, integrating APIs, and managing databases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex WordPress and Laravel issues, including performance, functionality, and security challenges.
• Implement database architecture, queries, and optimization techniques (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Write clean, well-structured, and efficient code following industry best practices (SOLID principles, DRY, OOP).
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement features, troubleshoot issues, and improve existing systems.
• Perform regular updates and maintenance for WordPress websites, including security updates and bug fixes.
• Optimize backend processes and database queries to improve performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure seamless integration between the frontend and backend of web applications.
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and suggest improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve development processes.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a PHP Developer, with a focus on WordPress and Laravel development.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience working with Tailwind CSS (or equivalent).
• Expertise in developing custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
• Proficiency with Laravel, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., Vue.js, React) is a plus but not required.
• Understanding of security best practices and performance optimization techniques.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or in-office environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce, Shopify) or membership sites.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Docker).
