What you’ll do

You will be reviewing credit applications from new and existing customers through a risk assessment process. You will assess the customers’ ability to pay the monthly costs for the duration of the contract.

As a credit underwriter you will need to balance commercial opportunity to support businesses with the connected services required alongside identifying bad debt risks, fraud and financial crime activity. You will also drive positive outcomes and responsible lending for our business customers. You will be responsible for:

• Call support working referred credit vets that occur when we are unable to make an automated decision
• Checking proof of ID’s obtained are genuine and meet the proofs requirement
• Using a range of resources available to identify fraudulent/high risk applications
• Reporting and recording any instances of fraud to the appropriate teams
• Liaising with sales channels and account managers to support with credit vetting queries
• May require direct contact with customers when additional information is required
• Know your business screening which includes triage for possible PEP’s, Sanctions and AML risks

Who you are

You will have:

• Written and communication skills, including Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to translate external customer credit report data (desirable)
• A willingness to learn, positive outlook, and an appetite to succeed
• Enjoyment of investigating across various systems and sources
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience of credit vetting/underwriting (desirable)
