Senior Backend Software Engineer Fully (Remote)

The Role

As a Backend Software Engineer II, you will be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining our backend infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions, influence technical decisions, and ensure the scalability and reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems that support our products/services using NodeJS.
• Architect and implement efficient APIs, and other backend components.
• Create and maintain clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of our backend systems, ensuring they align with business objectives and can scale to meet future demands.
• Architect and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and frameworks to enhance system performance.
• Implement security best practices to ensure data protection and system integrity.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement and advocate for automated testing practices to ensure the reliability of backend systems.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for their adoption when relevant.

Desired background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 4+ years of experience as a backend engineer/developer.
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable systems.
• Proven experience as in Node.js development.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6/ES7 features.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of database design and optimization, with experience in SQL databases.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards addressing technical challenges.
• Understanding of the environment of working with mobile applications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Bonus Skills

• Knowledge in Frontend development (Flutter mobile)
• Knowledge (reading capabilities) of PHP(Laravel).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Performance tuning and optimization of Node.js applications.
