Job Overview

We are in search of a committed HR Generalist to become a vital part of our team, supporting the Director of HR in various capacities. The successful candidate will bring 3-5+ years of progressive human resources experience along with a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices. This role is centered around the recruitment and onboarding of new employees while also contributing to a multitude of HR functions including employee relations, performance management, training initiatives, workers’ compensation handling, and regulatory compliance. The position offers flexibility for occasional remote work and travel as needed to support organizational programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the full-cycle recruitment process, working closely with hiring supervisors to define needs and develop customized strategies.
  • Facilitate new employee orientations to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, managing issues with discretion and promoting effective communication between staff and management.
  • Assist supervisors in setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and implementing improvement plans.
  • Identify training requirements and aid in the development of programs that enhance employee capabilities, coordinating and tracking training sessions.
  • Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation claims, collaborating with employees, management, and healthcare providers to ensure compliance and workplace safety.
  • Guarantee adherence to employment laws and regulations by maintaining accurate records and assisting in audits.
  • Support the formulation and enforcement of HR policies, offering guidance to both employees and supervisors.
  • Manage daily HR operations, generating reports, and analyzing HR data to facilitate informed decision-making.

Required Skills

  • In-depth understanding of HR principles and employment regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence with a sense of urgency in resolving HR matters.
  • Strong attention to detail with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS/ATS software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with 12-Step programs and their philosophies is a bonus but not essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in HR, emphasizing recruitment and generalist functions.
