The Kratos Senior DSP Engineer will plan, design, develop, DSP algorithms and modules for Kratos RF monitoring solutions. Troubleshoot, identify and resolve customer issues with legacy DSP analysis products. Work with a team to analyze and resolve issues discovered in all phases of software development life cycle.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work with product group and technical leads to perform requirements design tradeoffs, scope new efforts and develop solutions in accordance with system and /product architectures.
- This position would involve researching, designing, implementing, and testing software-defined signal processing algorithms to characterize and process RF signals for a variety of advanced applications
- Support software engineering development to translate algorithm prototypes into optimized, production-quality code suitable for operational deployment
- Support/Maintain/Improve algorithms for legacy products
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, code comments, and clear code.
- Build and maintain a robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline
- Provide clear, concise documentation of features, APIs
- Work with an Agile team, attend daily scrums and demonstrate working software while collaborating with a geographically distributed (remote) team
- Drive a culture of high-quality software development, while following industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement, planning them within the engineering design cycle iterations
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field
- Strong knowledge of DSP concepts such as: modems, channelizers, Doppler compensation, resampling signal processing, adaptive filtering, and floating vs fixed point implementations
- Strong knowledge of digital communications theory and systems including: spread spectrum, forward error correction, channel estimation, channel equalization, channel coding, and modulation types such as FSK, BPSK, QPSK, QAM, etc.
- Solid Understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles and practices using C++.
- Proficiency in using Python
- Proficiency in software fundamentals, including architectural design, algorithm, development, data structures, code modularity and testing
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with satellite communications or other RF communications experience
- GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, Bamboo
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodology

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $175,000-$190,000
