Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full-time (Regular) Exempt (Salaried) position supporting our customer located in Patuxent River, MD 20670. This is a 100% remote/telework position with the ideal candidate located in the Eastern or Central time zone. Candidate must reside within the contiguous United States.

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop DevOps capabilities for CI/CD pipeline solutions.
  • Improve and maintain GitLab pipeline configurations.
  • Interpret cyber security guidelines to resolve code vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain, monitor, and proactively research/pilot solutions to optimize and improve the parent scan pipeline.
  • Provide recommendations for technology advancement to streamline CI/CD tools and processes.
  • Assist with monthly GitLab upgrades.
  • Configure customer projects/access to pipeline, including configuring Git on customer assets and credentials in customer repositories.
  • Onboard new applications/customers to the CI/CD environment, working closely with application developers to provide training, technical guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist customers in crafting GitLab CI/CD YAML files to orchestrate child pipelines and/or test projects.
  • Create, maintain, update, and monitor health checks.
  • Research, analyze alternatives, recommend technical solutions, and architect new CI/CD environments and pipelines, such as cloud migration or supporting classified systems.
  • Provide demonstrations, briefs, newsletters regarding the pipeline and/or associated tools to customers and leadership at various levels.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
  • BS/BA degree and seven (7) years’ experience performing work in the roles and responsibilities described above. An AS/AA and four (4) years of additional experience (11 total) -or- a High School diploma and six (6) years of additional experience (13 total) may be considered in lieu of BS/BA.
  • Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar discipline is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Demonstrated strong CI/CD design, development, and implementation experience with GitLab.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience preparing technical guidance, how-to instructions, training material, test plans and preparing and conducting demonstrations and/or training to technical stakeholders.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance (interim required to start).
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced technical environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab Ultimate, Nexus, DORA metrics, and Prisma Cloud (formerly Twistlock).
  • Experience with OpenShift, Nexus, and/or Amazon ECS.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation range is based on industry compensation data and/or position budget and reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness:
  • The annual compensation range is $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with education and experience.
  • Other compensation may include discretionary bonuses, referral rewards, and spot awards.
