Lead Engineer (Remote)

• Actively participate and contribute to all phases of the software development cycle, including analysis of business requirements and creation of development plans
• Participate in high-level module development and design according to a product roadmap and defined project requirements
• Take personal accountability for the timeliness and quality of deliverables, working on assigned tasks as part of a team, but understanding when it is necessary to ask for help to overcome obstacles
• Proactively communicate with team members, and actively engage in team meetings and discussions
• Collaborate on writing internal and customer-facing specifications and documents related to system architecture, application design, and customer support
• Participate in peer review and integration of software development work using industry standard tools
• Guide and oversee enhancements to existing, and creation of new, development processes (e.g., CI/CD pipelines) to make all aspects of product development, deployment, and maintenance fast and efficient and to improve product quality
• Assist with, and troubleshoot, customer support issues and requests that are technical in nature
• Share designs, processes, and architectural guidance with other developers and assist more junior team members
• Take opportunities for training and learning to keep up to date with industry trends and standards in the healthcare industry and the wider software engineering domain
• Must be able to travel occasionally”

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of relevant software development experience working on medical applications
• Professional experience developing and maintaining applications using JavaScript (e.g., native, frameworks, and Node.js), HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with SQL database design and programming
• Experience producing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience using the Git source control system
• Strong conviction for usability, customer-focused design, and web standards
• Passion for developing high quality code that has been thoroughly tested
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
