About the opportunity

DaCodes is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a team of experienced engineers migrating our large Enterprise SaaS apps from EmberJS to React, improving the UX and functionality of the applications in the process. We are taking a page by page approach, and we have developed a robust component library which accelerates and standardizes the process.

The right candidate will be very comfortable working on the front end with expertise building in React, and will also be comfortable working on the backend to develop and adapt APIs as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Join a small team of fully remote engineers (5-10) migrating SaaS applications from EmberJS to React
• Participate in team meetings via Zoom including daily standup, weekly planning, and weekly retro, during normal PST working hours
• Own individual pages through the entire migration process
• Read code and consult with UX, PM, and other engineers to understand the current page functions
• Migrate code from Ember to React, utilizing existing React components and following established design patterns
• Develop and migrate API endpoints as needed to support front end functionality
• Write automated tests using React Testing Library and Playwright
• Collaborate with other engineers on code reviews
• Work with quality engineers and others to ensure pages work as intended
• Contribute to code reviews for other engineers on the team
• Contribute to process improvements to accelerate the overall migration process

What You’ll Bring

• Preferred experience: 5+ years as a full stack or front end software engineer
• Technical skill set:
• Expert level knowledge of React and Typescript
• Experience writing end to end tests with a framework like Playwright or Cypress
• Comfortable working in a Ruby on Rails backend, developing and adapting APIs to meet the needs of the front end
• Fundamentals: A strong foundation in software development fundamentals
• Problem solving skills: An ability to identify technical issues and address them accordingly
