Responsibilities
Exercises responsibility over Project Control areas of the program including graphs, analytical review, and cost reporting.
- Ensures that all financial reporting activities for the program are thoroughly and timely prepared and reviewed and that all
reports are compliant with appropriate financial standards and company requirements.
- Assists Senior Management in development of strategic business plans and forecasts; monitors actual vs. budget/forecast
ensuring financial statements provide a realistic view of the financial position.
- Overall financial compliance including review of financial procedures and practices to ensure compliance with Generally
Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and SarbanesOxley
requirements.
- Interfaces with internal and external auditors.
- Other financial-related duties to include: consulting with senior management and functional managers regarding
financial related activities; develop and implement financial controls; conduct financial reviews of program areas; prepare and
analyze various financial reports; develop and monitor performance metrics for financial management, and; other duties as required.
- Computer and Peripherals: Daily use of a computer (desktop or laptop) equipped with accounting software, including necessary peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, and dual monitors to facilitate multitasking and data analysis.
- Financial Software: Regular use of financial software and accounting systems like Deltek, Costpoint, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Office Software: Utilization of office productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Communication Tools: Frequent use of virtual communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and email platforms to collaborate with remote team members and communicate with clients.
- Internet and Network: Reliable high-speed internet connection for accessing cloud-based applications, financial systems, and virtual meeting platforms.
- Documentation Tools: Use of scanners, printers, and digital signature tools for handling and managing contract documents, and compliance documentation.
- Ergonomic Office Furniture: Comfortable and ergonomic office furniture, including an adjustable chair and desk, to ensure a productive and healthy remote working environment.
Ensuring proper setup and use of these materials and equipment will help maintain efficiency and accuracy in the Analyst’s daily tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not typically include direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the may provide guidance and support to finance manager or interns as needed, ensuring adherence to established procedures and practices.
Budgetary Responsibilities: The position does not have direct budgetary control but plays a critical role in financial management by ensuring accurate and timely project controls. The Analyst will work closely with the Finance Manager to support budget forecasting and financial planning by providing detailed reports and analyses.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. This foundational education ensures the candidate has a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Professional Certifications (Preferred but not required): While not mandatory, certifications such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) can be advantageous and demonstrate a higher level of expertise and commitment to the field.
Experience:
- Industry-Specific Experience: Four or more years of experience in all areas of accounting finance including Financial Analysis or Project Controls. Experience in operations with multiple locations is preferred.
Skills & Technology Used:
- Financial Software Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems such as Deltek, Costpoint, and QuickBooks is essential for managing processes and financial data.
- Data Analysis Tools: Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools to perform financial analyses, identify trends, and prepare reports.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing and analyzing data, ensuring compliance with contract terms and regulatory guidelines.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Communication Skills: Effective and fluent english communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, team members, and other departments. Ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely. German language skills would be appreciated but are not required
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with virtual communication and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and email platforms to coordinate with remote team members and clients.
