About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to take ownership of the backend systems powering Minterest’s DeFi protocol. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable microservices and APIs that support the protocol’s core functionality, ensuring the highest standards of security and performance. As a key contributor, you will also collaborate on smart contract development using Solidity, ensuring secure and efficient interaction between off-chain services and on-chain contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance microservices to support Minterest’s core features.
• Develop and maintain Solidity smart contracts to integrate with backend systems, enabling secure and seamless DeFi operations.
• Maintain and optimise backend infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of the system.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other cross-functional teams to deliver seamless integration between the backend, smart contracts, and user-facing components.
• Ensure the integrity and security of user data through robust API development and best practices in backend engineering.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to the evolution of the system’s architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure test coverage and adherence to software engineering best practices.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in blockchain technology and DeFi to keep Minterest at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Backend Developer, with a strong focus on JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience building microservices and working with SQL databases.
• Proficient in cloud-based infrastructures, particularly AWS, with experience in container services like ECS or Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of Solidity, smart contract development, and Ethereum-based blockchain technologies.
• Experience with libraries such as web3.js or ethers.js for interaction with smart contracts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect scalable and reliable backend systems.
• Solid communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, global team.
• High attention to detail, ensuring the security and scalability of all backend solutions.
• European timezone preferred, but not required.
