Do you want to join an international cloud operations team responsible for best-in-class next generation cloud solutions? If so, Configit is looking for a Principal Cloud Operations Engineer to lead our Chennai Cloud Operations team, actively collaborating with Configit team members in Europe and USA.

Configit is driving innovation in Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM) and is trusted by many big international companies for their mission-critical functions. Due to our success, we are growing our next generation Cloud Operations team and seeking a Principal Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team at Chennai (hosted by Kedge Systems Private Limited at Navalur, Chennai).

The role will be reporting to Configits Global Operations Manager located in Europe/USA.

Purpose:

• The role will be responsible for the daily operation of the cloud solutions provided to our customers specific with focus on backup and disaster recovery.
• You will be supporting the Technical Manager on cloud solutions, offerings, requirements, security, and standards.
• You will be advising & sparring together with the rest of the cloud operations team, on best practice and requirements for Configit Cloud Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Work with different departments on building the architecture for our SAAS offerings
• Maintain and operate cloud environments on Azure (single-tenant)
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments.
• Secure Configit Cloud solution with well-documented procedures
• Lead Cloud Operations team in Chennai office
• Working closely together with the architect to professionalize our solutions to the next level by providing feedback on the scripts designed by the Cloud Operation team
• Being the funnel of information to our team in Chennai
• Ensure client operation and meet promised customer SLAs

Additional Responsibilities:

• Regular day to day decisions around operating cloud environments.
• Participate on equal level with improvement ideas and design changes as the rest of the team
• Participate in driving our team in Chennai – push tasks and support them in follow-up.

Experience:

• Professional background with 6+ years of experience in Azure cloud components
• Some experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS in single-tenant environments
• 4+ years of working with Kubernetes
• 5+ years knowledge of working with DevOps Pipelines
• Experience with SQL and No SQL based databases.
• Experience with Web Application Development lifecycle
• Experience with project delivery to end-customers

Technical Skills:

• Bachelor or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or similar
• PowerShell knowledge and experience

Personal Qualities:

• Excellent documentation and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication (written and verbal) skills in English
• Abilities of a fast learner and desire to stay current with technology and best practices
• A pragmatic approach and a resourceful individual with desire to assist, engage and provide high-level service
• Ability to effectively balance multiple on-going activities
• Flexibility and commitment (Be available outside office hours in case of extremely critical issue resolution)

Other desirable factors:

• Professional background with 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture and Azure cloud components
• ITIL and/or Scrum experience
• Experience with Microsoft LogAnalytics
• Experience working with Java and C# (is an advantage)
• Experience with Visual Studio, TeamCity, Continuous Integration, Git & GitHub (is an advantage)

Expected Results:

• Deliver deployment environments for our business units’ projects
• Assisting Support with ticket solutions
• Assist on project start-up’s with knowledge on sizing and structure based on the framework provided
• Participate in presales meeting after 6-9 months of employment
• Participate in Status meeting with key customers
• Operating and assisting Delivery with ongoing projects
• Being responsible for the operation of solutions after go-live
