Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Designer/Draftsman to join our team. The candidate will provide comprehensive drafting, design, and technical services, including the development of architectural plans, height safety designs, and construction documentation. You will collaborate closely with consultants to deliver high-quality projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Service Delivery Process:

• Analyze and review project design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Develop solutions for managing occupational height safety and access risks in compliance with governing legislation, Australian Standards, and manufacturer documentation.
• Produce architectural and engineering-standard drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support the preparation of reports and project plans.
• Assist in project estimating and client communication.

2. Technical Responsibilities:

• Prepare drawings, models, and specifications under the direction of the Lead Consultant.
• Use software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam to deliver detailed designs and documentation.
• Conduct building inspections and risk assessments.
• Ensure adherence to company standards in preparing and administering both external and internal drawings.
• Engage in continual upskilling to improve technical proficiency in design and safety consulting.

3. General & Administrative:

• Organize, file, and archive project drawings and documents electronically.
• Maintain and update contract files.
• Assist with internal and external communication.
• Ensure the efficient operation of the office environment and contribute to maintaining a positive workplace atmosphere.

4. Marketing & Sales:

• Participate in the development of marketing strategies for new and existing clients.
• Support the creation of promotional materials, both for print and online, to raise awareness of services.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives and programs as needed.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Efficient use of drafting and design software (Revit, AutoCAD).
• Satisfactory completion of assigned tasks within specified deadlines.
• Positive feedback from clients and consultants regarding performance.
• Clear and confident communication during presentations to clients.

Problem Solving:

• Continuously seek creative solutions to improve project management processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Business Management Systems.
• Experience with risk assessment, safety consulting, and height safety design.

Education and Experience:

• TAFE Diploma in Building Design, Architectural Technology, or Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the building industry in a design or drafting capacity.
• Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and regulations for construction and safety.
