Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Scientific Marketing and Business Development (BD) Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for crafting and executing comprehensive marketing and business development strategies while driving growth initiatives at Koonkie. You will collaborate closely with the Koonkie team and engage with key stakeholders to enhance our market presence and expand business opportunities in the biological sciences sector.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute integrated marketing and business development strategies to enhance Koonkie’s brand presence and market position.
Conduct market research to analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients, identifying new business opportunities.
Create and manage editorial and content calendars for various media platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Design and produce marketing content that effectively communicates Koonkie’s value proposition and engages target audiences.
Build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, fostering connections with industry leaders to drive business growth.
Collaborate with marketing, product, and scientific teams to align strategies and objectives.
Track and report on sales metrics and campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments and proposing new strategies as needed.
Refine a brand style guide that captures the essence of Koonkie’s voice and mission.

Skills and qualifications

Proven expertise in marketing and business development, ideally within the biological sciences (minimum 3 years experience).
Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Effective prioritization and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategies.
Competence in negotiating terms and closing deals while maintaining positive relationships.
Proficiency in networking and relationship-building to establish connections with potential clients and industry professionals.
Familiarity with content management systems, web analytics (including Google Analytics), and project management software.
Experienced at generating effective marketing collateral across multiple channels, including email and social media, content marketing, and using SEO.
Demonstrated project management skills, including goal-setting, project scoping, and deadline management.
A minimum of a post-secondary degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Science Communication, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
Experience working with biological or genomic data is an asset.
