Randstad Federal is seeking a UI/UX Designer in support of a program at IRS

location: Frederick, Maryland

job type: Contract

salary: $65 – 75 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the UX design for a number of newly digitalized workflows.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to conduct engagement sessions using approved User Experience / Human Centered Design methodologies.
• Create detailed user journeys and process maps to inform interface design decisions.
• Enhance usability through design thinking principles, ensuring a smooth transition from current to future state processes.
• Develop comprehensive prototypes and iterate based on stakeholder feedback and usability testing results.
• Collaborate with Developers to ensure proper implementation of design elements and interactions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support efficient configuration and implementation of new interface features.
• Contribute to defining and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to user experience and interface performance.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of UX design experience
• Extensive experience in UI/UX design for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in User Experience / Human Centered Design methodologies.
• strong portfolio demonstrating ability to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity or work experience with low code/no code development platforms (Pega, Salesforce, ServiceNow) and their design implications.
• strong communication skills and ability to present design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with design thinking principles and their application in complex system design.
• Understanding of federal compliance requirements and their impact on user interface design.
• strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on product quality and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams to achieve results

Skilled at working effectively with diverse stakeholders including technical leads, business users, and executive management

• Highly desirable: IRS MBI clearance
