OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO), the Specialist, Corporate Affairs plays a vital role in managing and coordinating various activities within the Corporate Affairs function, including marketing, communications, customer relations and program compliance. This individual will have a key coordination and project management role and contribute to enhancing the company’s reputation, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and supporting organizational goals through strategic initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track and support the implementation of corporate affairs strategies and initiatives related to marketing, communications, and customer relations;
- Perform a range of administrative and operational tasks including but not limited to preparing internal and external communications, developing a content strategy/calendar, tracking and reporting against key milestones, managing and updating external and internal communication channels, ensuring content and documents are current;
- Department budget monitoring, tracking and reporting;
- Support alignment with brand objectives and target audiences, while also ensuring brand consistency and continuity;
- Project management and administrative support for communication initiatives, events and other strategic initiatives;
- Develop networks and build internal relationships by engaging in cross-functional activities and collaborating with various departments and teams;
- Support development of graphics, animations and written content for various stakeholder and communication channels;
- Respond to inquiries and requests from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Contribute to the corporate affairs calendar/scheduling;
- Organize and facilitate working group and stakeholder presentations via Zoom/Teams, forums, and events;
- Other administrative tasks, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in corporate affairs, marketing, communications, public affairs, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Experience with graphic design programs (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
- Experience with email marketing program (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
- Strong project management and administrative skills.
- Details oriented and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and deliver impactful presentations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills, capable of identifying trends, anticipating issues, and developing proactive solutions.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and media monitoring/analysis software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Flexible work schedule requiring periods of extended working hours to meet deadlines during peak periods.
- Occasional site visits to Head Office in Toronto, ON.
- Ability to travel
