Water Vehicle Technician (Remote)

Job description / Role

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Water Vehicle Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of watercrafts, including boats, jet skis, and marine equipment. This position requires hands-on experience with marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components to ensure optimal performance and safety of water vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues in watercraft
– Execute repairs and maintenance on marine engines, including inboard and outboard motors
– Install, repair, and maintain marine electrical systems and components
– Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks
– Test and calibrate repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality
– Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs
– Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations
– Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
– Winterize and de-winterize boats and other water vehicles
– Install and service marine accessories and equipment

Required Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Minimum 2 years experience working with marine vehicles and equipment
– Valid driver’s license
– Marine technician certification (preferred)
– Knowledge of marine electrical systems and electronics
– Experience with both inboard and outboard engines

Preferred Qualifications:
– Technical school degree in Marine Technology or related field
– Manufacturer-specific certifications (Mercury, Yamaha, etc.)
– Experience with fiberglass repair and maintenance
– Knowledge of marine HVAC systems
– Familiarity with marine navigation systems

– Basic computer skills for diagnostic equipment operation
