Lowcode Design Lead | The Delta | South Africa
Who We Are Looking For:
As a Lowcode & Design Lead at The Delta, you will manage a multidisciplinary team of low-code engineers and designers within the Engineering department, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. In this role, you will oversee a diverse range of projects, from quick-turnaround solutions to scalable, long-term ventures. We’re looking for someone who can think outside the box, pushing the boundaries of both low-code platforms and design practices to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project delivery: Be hands-on in delivering technical and design solutions yourself when needed, as well as overseeing projects from technical discovery through to launch. Ensure that project goals are met while maintaining high quality and efficiency.
- Development & design oversight: Lead both developers and designers (internal and external), ensuring high-quality product delivery. Adapt design and development approaches to meet the diverse needs of clients and project types. Monitor progress through regular reviews and provide hands-on support when necessary to maintain excellence.
- Pre-Sales support & guidance: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements. Provide time estimates, offer technical and design insights, and support the creation of proposals to guide the initial stages of client engagements.
- Driving technical & design innovation: Stay at the forefront of industry trends by researching new low-code platforms, design tools, and best practices. Lead the exploration of innovative technologies and approaches that push the boundaries of what is possible in both design and development.
- Leadership & mentoring: Mentor junior and intermediate developers and designers within the team. Provide guidance, answer questions, and support their growth within The Delta, helping to build a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Embracing ambiguity: Tackle projects where solutions are not always clear, using your problem-solving skills and adaptability to identify the best path forward. Your comfort with ambiguity will be critical in navigating unfamiliar challenges and technologies.
We’re looking for someone who excels in either low-code development or design. Expertise in one of these areas is essential, but you must also have experience in the other to lead effectively across disciplines. Having experience and proficiency in both fields is a significant advantage.
