- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Hootsuite products and users, and leverage insights to champion user-centric decision-making
- Lead medium to large-scale qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research studies with minimal supervision, including developing research plans, selecting appropriate research methods, recruiting participants, collecting and synthesizing data into meaningful insights, and socializing them throughout the organization
- Build close, collaborative, and influential relationships with relevant stakeholders throughout the entire research process, proactively identifying knowledge gaps for user research to tackle, engaging stakeholders in research activities, and encouraging co-ownership and adoption of insights
- Support research democratization efforts, such as coaching and training non-researchers on feasibility assessment, methodology selection, and other aspects of research, maintaining the research infrastructure (tools, templates, research repository), and ensuring research findings are widely shared and accessible.
- Develop a deep understanding of existing research, active projects, and strategic discussions in order to share existing research to further conversations and anticipate potential research needs
- Identify new ways to level up our research practice by sharing knowledge. within the team, improving research processes, engaging the organization, and scaling our impact
- Minimum 4 years experience as a User Researcher (experience working in an Enterprise or B2B SaaS product environment is a plus)
- A strong portfolio of projects demonstrating impactful research insights with clear actionable outcomes to complex problems
- Proficient in moderated and unmoderated qualitative research, surveys, product analytics, participatory research, and workshop moderation
- Ability to identify opportunities for research, scope studies, and select appropriate methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to structure research findings into a clear, compelling narrative, and present your work
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, ability to interact and build solid relationships with diverse stakeholders, including product leadership, product managers, designers, and other researchers
- Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail

Salary: $98k-$158k CAD (estimated: $70k- $113K USD)
You must be fully authorized to work in your country of residence; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available. This is a full-time role with full benefits, with a start date in mid-November.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We’re looking for a Senior User Researcher to help us deliver impactful research to create experiences that truly empower our users. You’ll work on a diverse set of UX problems, developing and executing research initiatives to support customer-centric solutions aligned with our product vision and strategy. You will help maintain our research infrastructure and provide coaching and advice that enables others in our organization to conduct, interpret, and access research. Your insights will enable us to understand users better to ensure we’re prioritizing the right products for development, improving existing product experience, increasing adoption, reducing churn, and creating more effective marketing. Reporting to the Manager of User Research this role works closely with our UX Design and Product teams.
