User Experience Designer (Remote)

As the Lead UX designer, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and auditing the user experience of our games on web and mobile. Your role is critical in the successful launches of our products. You will be reporting to the Product Director and will collaborate across disciplines (product, design, art, and engineering) to deliver an exceptional user experience to our users. You will lead and mentor other UX designers to translate product vision and direction into UX design, considering factors such as time, capability and technical limitations. The successful candidate will have game UX experience with a portfolio of examples.

Responsibilities:

Gather and evaluate requirements

• Ensure that specification requirements for user experience (UX) design are aligned with business needs and player requirements
• Conduct initial research on game competitors’ UX design and present findings to internal stakeholders and teams
• Research and create user journeys
• Provide recommendations for UX solutions

Design user interface elements and identity

• Develop a UX style guide that incorporates product requirements and industry best practices
• Design and develop wireframes, mockups, and UX flows based on user needs
• Translate content and layout into an intuitive and responsive interface experience for users
• Work with product leadership, game designers, and UI artists to incorporate a visual or product identity for the user experience

Optimize user experience

• Lead usability tests and analyze feedback to propose improvements to enhance user experience
• Identify and troubleshoot UX design issues
• Continuously iterate on designs based on data to improve conversion rates

Lead and mentor

• Lead and mentor one or more UX designers to level up their skills and knowledge.
• Lead by example by creating well researched and fit-for-purpose UX design
• Provide constructive feedback and manage performance of reports

Requirements:

• Proven professional experience in web and app UX design, with at least 3 years of experience in a senior or leadership role
• Expert in industry standard wireframing/prototyping tools such as Figma, Framer, or similar
• Strong brand and product management sense and experience especially for e-commerce / digital goods web applications
• Able to work well in a remote, collaborative environment
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Proactive and creative with the drive to improve and continuously learn
• Front-end web development experience is a plus
• Passion for gaming and gamified experiences is ideal
