As an Experienced Travel Portal Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our custom travel portal. You will work closely with our design, operations, and product teams to build a seamless and user-friendly platform that meets the diverse needs of our film crew and corporate clients. You should have a deep understanding of travel booking systems, API integrations, and the ability to create scalable and secure web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel Portal Development:

Design, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable travel portal that allows clients to book flights, accommodations, transportation, and more.

• API Integrations:

Integrate third-party APIs (e.g., airline booking systems, hotel aggregators, payment gateways) to ensure the portal offers real-time booking, availability, and pricing.

• User Experience (UX):

Work closely with the UI/UX team to create an intuitive, responsive, and seamless user experience across devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).

• System Architecture & Security:

Build and optimize the portal’s architecture for high performance, scalability, and security, particularly for handling sensitive customer data and payment information.

• Database Management:

Develop and manage databases for storing booking data, user preferences, transaction history, and other relevant information.

• Testing & Debugging:

Conduct rigorous testing (unit, integration, and user acceptance) to ensure the portal is bug-free, secure, and functions as intended. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Collaboration:

Work closely with the design, product, and operations teams to ensure the portal meets business goals and client expectations. Provide input on new features, enhancements, and performance improvements.

• Maintenance & Updates:

Regularly update and maintain the portal, implementing new features, addressing security vulnerabilities, and ensuring the system is up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

• Continuous Improvement:

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in web development, travel technologies, and industry best practices. Propose innovative solutions to enhance the platform’s performance, functionality, and user experience.

Key Requirements:

• Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in web development, with a focus on building and maintaining travel portals or similar e-commerce platforms.

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, Angular, etc.).
• Strong back-end development skills (Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, or similar).
• Expertise in API integration (RESTful APIs, SOAP, third-party integrations such as airline and hotel booking systems).
• Familiarity with travel booking engines, GDS (Global Distribution Systems), and OTA (Online Travel Agency) platforms is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).
• Security Knowledge:

Understanding of web security best practices, especially in handling personal data and payment transactions (PCI-DSS compliance, encryption, etc.).

• Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues independently and efficiently.

• Collaboration:

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and business stakeholders.

• Version Control:

Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

• Agile Methodology:

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) is a plus.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with mobile app development (iOS/Android) or progressive web apps (PWAs) is a plus.
• Knowledge of machine learning or AI-based recommendations for personalized travel experiences.
• Experience in building multilingual/multi-currency systems for global users.
