Principal Cloud Engineer (Remote)

Position: Principal Cloud Engineer

Work Arrangement: Fully remote performed from anywhere in U.S.

Duties: Architect and build reliable, secure and cost-effective solutions in AWS, applying principles of Linux system administration, containerization, security and networking. Manage a team of technical experts across DevOps, site reliability, QA, and cloud security. Lead the organization toward a complete state of infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform and Terraform Cloud. Ensure that every aspect of our tech stack adheres to modern standards of availability, is fault tolerant, and strengthens information security. Identify areas of improvement with existing solutions and lead the implementation of new projects. Bring technical guidance and engineering best practices to building and scaling cloud native applications. Drive automation throughout our software development lifecycle. Migrate legacy systems from on-premise infrastructure to cloud platforms. Build modern web applications using microservices to improve tech stack, including ReactJS, Django, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Git and Linux. Coach and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience with cloud architecture, systems engineering, virtualization, serverless computing, networking, storage, security, DevOps, DevSecOps and system administration.

Alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience with cloud architecture, systems engineering, virtualization, serverless computing, networking, storage, security, DevOps, DevSecOps and system administration. Specific skills/other requirements: architecting and designing AWS solutions for customer-facing applications; writing terraform or other infrastructure as code scripts; building modern web applications using microservices; and migrating workloads from on-premise to AWS. Must possess: AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification and AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification

Rate of Pay: $201,000.00 to $221,000 per Year

The wage range for applicants for this position is $201,000.00 to $221,000/year. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
