This UX designer will be a key member of our global team, working directly with our US clients on mission-critical engagements.
The Principal UX Designer is responsible for ensuring that the design effort aligns with our client’s business objectives. In particular, this includes working closely with the 3Pillar engagement team and clients to create outstanding designs that delight the end users. The Principal UX will work closely and partner with global delivery teams (Product Management, Engineering, and Program Management) and the Client Services team to support pre-sales efforts; to consult with clients on business challenges; deliver best-of-breed products using Agile practices; and drive growth.uD83DuDE80uD83DuDCBB
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead UX work on multi-designer (3-5) engagements and delegate tasks to other team members.
- Act as the cross-functional lead designer of distributed product team members from our UX delivery centers in the US, LATAM, and Romania.
- Lead UX rituals (e.g., internal design reviews).
- Participate in agile engagement rituals.
- Lead the client and project team through influence.
- Guide the client and internal team in evaluating tradeoffs, making design decisions.
- Oversee work of other designers, review deliverables, provide feedback, manage to deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to change team structure to improve efficiency and/or results.
- Identify business opportunities at the client for increased revenue and engage CPs and PDMs accordingly.
- Ensure the UX team understands the product vision, mission, goals, values, and user type(s).
- Possess an expert-level knowledge of interaction and visual design.
- Create a collaborative team culture.
- Identify and manage risk.
- Provide suggestions for improvement on team members’ career development.
- Provide guidance and feedback to team members on their performance.
- Lead technical UX interviews with prospective hires.
- Establish tools and processes for the team.
- Take a leadership role in developing training.
- Lead internal training sessions.
- Publish UX content via LinkedIn, Medium, or other channels approximately 4x per year.
- Communicate plans, priorities, and status to the client, team members, and internal management as appropriate.
- Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends and emerging technologies such as AI, with a view to incorporating these in future projects and staying ahead of the market
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 7 years of experience in a client-facing UX Leadership position (Lead or Sr. UX Designer).
- At least 5 years of consulting experience.
- Expertise working with complex digital products, business logic, process, and a variety of clients.
- Experience in organizational leadership, including experience working with and influencing teams and executive leads.
- A strong track record of problem solving and a “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to see the bigger picture among the details.
- Experience working with global teams.
- Highly culturally aware.
- Experience in facilitating workshops.
- Relationship builder. Highly empathetic and collaborative, able to work across senior-level stakeholders to drive decisions.
- Strong communication skills, including ability to explain, persuade, and take a large amount of information and distill it into a clear, concise message.
- Practical knowledge and experience in Agile practices and Lean methodologies to build best-of-breed products
