This opportunity is fully remote for U.S.-based candidates only. Please note that only U.S. citizens will be considered for this role. While we envision a long-term collaboration, the position is subject to annual budget evaluations. The initial contract extends through the current fiscal year, with a possible renewal anticipated on July 1st.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage time and resources to keep projects on schedule.
- Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project scope, issues, risks, and deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through continuous communication and negotiation of scope and schedule adjustments.
- Shape client expectations and manage project scope, risk, and budget effectively.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and collaborate with stakeholders to formulate and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor team performance and guide project teams toward successful outcomes.
Required Skills
- 8-10 years of relevant project management experience.
- Strong analytical and presentation capabilities, with the aptitude to customize communication for diverse audiences, including management, stakeholders, users, and technical teams.
- Proven proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA.
- Preferred experience as both a Project Manager and Business Analyst in the same project.
- Solid understanding of Agile Software Development Lifecycle processes, including incremental/iterative and Waterfall methodologies.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Experience in overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT) and developing test cases/scenarios.
- Familiarity with web application development teams utilizing technologies like Java and Drupal.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Experience in research/educational institutions or small IT companies is a plus.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required, preferably in Business, Accounting, or an IT-related field. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
