Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Engineer Team Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is responsible for leading a team of cloud engineers to architect and develop innovative cloud-based solutions. The Team Lead will design and implement the whole life-cycle functions of the programs required on the cloud. This role involves developing the processes, optimization, and risk management tools.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

Lead a team of cloud engineers
Mentoring junior staff is likely to be a portion of your responsibilities
Deploying, debugging, and executing initiatives related to cloud computing
Designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based systems, ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies
Migrating applications and systems to the cloud
Configuring cloud infrastructure components like networking and security services
Creating the applications and databases that perform on the cloud
Monitoring cloud management and data storage services
Managing a cloud environment and debugging activities throughout development
Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs
Collaborates and identifies cloud solutions with technical teams
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-based process difficulties

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor degree and 8 years’ experience or Associate degree and 10 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years’ experience
U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
Proven experienced Technical Team Lead with mastery of cutting-edge cloud solutions and architectures.
Experience working as a cloud engineer
Extensive experience working in AWS, Azure, and/or VMWare environments.
Strong experience with IAC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes.
Experience developing Bash/Python scripts and templates necessary for resource provisioning to occur automatically
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment
Experience with Java, Jenkins, REST API development
Experience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application servers
Discovering and implementing industry-standard cloud service offers, as well as processes and standards that ensure the most efficient use of cloud service provider products
Prior experience providing mentoring to junior personnel
Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems Target Salary Range

$86,000 – $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
