Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Engineer Team Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is responsible for leading a team of cloud engineers to architect and develop innovative cloud-based solutions. The Team Lead will design and implement the whole life-cycle functions of the programs required on the cloud. This role involves developing the processes, optimization, and risk management tools.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of cloud engineers
- Mentoring junior staff is likely to be a portion of your responsibilities
- Deploying, debugging, and executing initiatives related to cloud computing
- Designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based systems, ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies
- Migrating applications and systems to the cloud
- Configuring cloud infrastructure components like networking and security services
- Creating the applications and databases that perform on the cloud
- Monitoring cloud management and data storage services
- Managing a cloud environment and debugging activities throughout development
- Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs
- Collaborates and identifies cloud solutions with technical teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-based process difficulties

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree and 8 years’ experience or Associate degree and 10 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years’ experience
- U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
- Proven experienced Technical Team Lead with mastery of cutting-edge cloud solutions and architectures.
- Experience working as a cloud engineer
- Extensive experience working in AWS, Azure, and/or VMWare environments.
- Strong experience with IAC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes.
- Experience developing Bash/Python scripts and templates necessary for resource provisioning to occur automatically
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience with Java, Jenkins, REST API development
- Experience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application servers
- Discovering and implementing industry-standard cloud service offers, as well as processes and standards that ensure the most efficient use of cloud service provider products
- Prior experience providing mentoring to junior personnel
- Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems Target Salary Range
$86,000 – $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
