Are you ready to take the reins on a nationwide property portfolio with a legacy organization? We’re looking for an experienced Property and Places Manager to join our team and lead the management, maintenance, and optimization of the Australian Institute of Architects’ properties across the country. With a network of locations, exciting new projects, and a hybrid work model, this is your chance to shape spaces that support architecture and design professionals throughout Australia.

Why Join Us?

At the Australian Institute of Architects, we’re not just about buildings—we’re about creating environments that inspire and support the profession. As the peak body for architects in Australia, we’ve been an advocate for quality and sustainable design since 1930, supporting over 14,500 members. Our commitment to flexibility and inclusivity is driven by our values and forward-thinking culture. Join a team that’s making a difference in the built environment, supported by a proactive leadership team and a national network of peers.

About the Role

As the Property and Places Manager, you’ll oversee the Institute’s diverse property portfolio, implementing efficient project management processes and ensuring our sites operate at maximum value. You’ll take the lead on projects from development application (DA) through to completion, coordinating with key stakeholders, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with WHS and other property laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize RAIA’s property portfolio across Australia, driving value and efficiency.
  • Implement project management processes for renovations, upgrades, and acquisitions.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with tenants, contractors, and strata committees.
  • Maintain WHS compliance across all sites and manage associated costs effectively.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Qualifications & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a Built Environment discipline, plus 4+ years in multi-site property management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of Australian property laws, best practices, and project management.
  • Financial & Management Skills: Budget management, contract negotiation, and financial acumen.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with property management tools and MS Office.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel interstate and manage some out-of-hours work as required.
