As a Project & Operations Lead at April9, you will play a key hands-on role in ensuring successful delivery of software projects while driving operational excellence. You will work closely with development teams, directly contribute to project success, and lead process improvements across our delivery operations.
About you
As an ideal candidate for the Project & Operations Lead role at April9, you possess at least 3-4 years of experience in software project delivery, with demonstrated experience in team coordination and process improvement. You have a proven track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously while actively participating in delivery operations.
You have a solid understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum, combined with practical resource coordination skills. Your excellent communication abilities and hands-on approach enable you to effectively work with team members and stakeholders while continuously improving our delivery operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Project and Resource Coordination:
- Actively coordinate and participate in the planning and execution of multiple software projects
- Work directly with teams to plan resource allocation and capacity needs
- Track and report on project financials, timelines, and delivery milestones
- Help establish and maintain project governance practices
- Identify and escalate project risks proactively
- Maintain the team skills matrix and assist with resource planning
- Coordinate solutions for cross-project dependencies and resource needs
Process Development and Implementation:
- Work hands-on to implement and refine delivery processes
- Create and maintain project documentation templates
- Develop and implement practical project frameworks
- Identify opportunities for automation in daily operations
- Guide teams in sprint planning and release management activities
- Establish effective client communication practices
- Lead knowledge transfer sessions and support handovers
Team Effectiveness:
- Work alongside teams to implement and track delivery metrics
- Actively participate in and guide team productivity improvements
- Help identify skill gaps and learning opportunities
- Foster team collaboration and effective communication
- Share and implement delivery best practices
- Lead by example in continuous improvement initiatives
- Facilitate communication between teams and with clients
Documentation and Team Support:
- Develop and maintain operational documentation
- Contribute to strategic planning discussions
- Prepare and deliver status updates to stakeholders
- Work closely with technical leads and product teams
- Build strong relationships between development and client teams
Continuous Improvement:
- Take initiative in identifying operational improvements
- Actively participate in implementing new methodologies
- Share knowledge and provide mentoring to team members
- Champion the adoption of new tools and processes
- Help analyse delivery metrics and implement improvements
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
- 3-4 years experience in software project delivery
- Experience in team coordination and leadership
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum)
- Experience with resource planning and coordination
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
