Business Development Manager Ndis | Intellect Care Pty Ltd | Australia

The NDIS Business Development Manager will be instrumental in the expansion and enhancement of our client’s network within the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) sector. This role involves cultivating and sustaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders, driving the acquisition of new clients, and ensuring the achievement of business development targets through the implementation of effective, evidence-based strategies. The individual will be expected to align the company’s services with the needs of participants, service providers, and other relevant NDIS stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Acquisition and Retention:
The NDIS Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and acquiring new clients within the NDIS landscape. In addition to this, the role involves ensuring the ongoing retention and expansion of business with existing clients, thereby fostering long-term relationships and securing repeat business.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
Establishing and nurturing robust, professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders—including NDIS participants, carers, service providers, healthcare professionals, and community organisations—is crucial. The role requires the ability to engage effectively with decision-makers at multiple levels to ensure that the organisation’s offerings meet the evolving needs of the NDIS market.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
The Manager will be tasked with developing and implementing strategic business development plans tailored to the NDIS sector. This includes understanding market trends, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring alignment with both organisational objectives and the broader NDIS framework.
  • Sales and Pipeline Management:
Effective management of the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing, will be a critical responsibility. The NDIS Business Development Manager will ensure that all prospects are appropriately tracked and engaged throughout the sales cycle, utilising the company’s CRM system to monitor progress and manage client interactions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, such as operations, service delivery, and marketing, to ensure the delivery of client-centred services that align with both business objectives and the expectations of NDIS stakeholders.
  • Market Research and Intelligence:
Continuous market research is necessary to stay informed on the latest NDIS policy changes, industry trends, and competitor activities. The Manager will be responsible for using this information to inform business development strategies, ensuring that the organisation remains competitive and adaptable in a changing regulatory environment.
  • Reporting and Performance Metrics:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for tracking and reporting on performance metrics, including client acquisition, revenue growth, and market penetration. Regular reporting to senior leadership will ensure that strategic objectives are being met.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Relationship Building:
A proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with diverse NDIS stakeholders, including participants, service providers, community leaders, and other external partners.
  • Strong Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, particularly in explaining complex NDIS-related concepts in an accessible and clear manner.
  • Client-Centered Focus:
A deep understanding of the NDIS framework and a commitment to client-centred service delivery are essential. The role requires an empathetic approach to managing relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving:
The ability to think strategically, identify opportunities for growth, and address challenges within the NDIS landscape will be crucial for success.
  • Sales and Negotiation Skills:
Proven experience in acquiring new clients, negotiating contracts, and closing business deals within the NDIS sector or similar service-based industries is highly desirable.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Health Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, ideally within the NDIS sector or a related service industry (e.g., healthcare, disability services).
  • A comprehensive understanding of NDIS policies, guidelines, and funding models.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for NDIS participants.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the NDIS sector.
  • Flexible working arrangements and a supportive work environment.
  • An opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
