Roles and Responsibilities:
The Business Project Manager will play a key role in the execution of the company’s business architecture. As a part of the Project Management team, this individual will collaborate closely with Business Leads, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Product Managers to ensure the success of key initiatives and product launches. The Business Project Manager will drive project execution, contribute to cross-functional team alignment, and ensure a positive, productive working environment across the organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to manage and track project documentation within tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Monday.com.
- Ensure all documentation meets state, federal, and industry-specific certification guidelines to ensure compliance and successful project outcomes.
- Promote a collaborative environment by fostering positive relationships with internal teams (PMO, Operations, Business Leads), external partners, and potentially customer resources.
- Encourage open communication and teamwork to ensure alignment on project goals and successful execution.
- Report on project status, requirements, issues, and risks to leadership, PMO, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide clear updates on deliverables, timelines, and any potential project risks, offering solutions as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal project meetings, which may include third-party or vendor participation, to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage meeting schedules, ensure the right resources are present, and track follow-up actions to keep projects on track.
- Plan and manage team task assignments at a story level across multiple projects.
- Track team progress, ensuring tasks are completed on time and that resources are allocated effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Track and manage project dependencies, proactively identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks to ensure timely project delivery.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve dependencies that could delay progress.
- Identify, manage, document, and escalate project risks as early as possible to avoid financial or operational disruptions.
- Participate in solutioning sessions to resolve identified risks and document the resolution process.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards, particularly in healthcare and technology sectors.
- Maintain awareness of relevant compliance standards and adjust project processes as needed to stay aligned.
- Understand and document operational workflows.
- Communicate workflow requirements to technical teams, ensuring that deliverables meet documented requirements.
- Identify and address potential issues with requirements feasibility, facilitating further discussions when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a project manager.
- Recent experience in health plan leading large, complicated projects through the complete project lifecycle.
- Experience working in Agile environments, with the ability to implement and drive Agile project lifecycle methodologies to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Experience managing day-to-day project activities, including defining deliverables, roles, and responsibilities.
- Experience leading and participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Experience with certification/accreditation such as HITRUST.
- Experience with minimizing project risk and risk documentation.
- Understands and applies leading-edge project management methodologies to drive deliverables.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving, identifying project issues, and developing solutions based on data and insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to problem-solve while demonstrating influencing skills to align teams and stakeholders toward a common solution or objective.
- Ability to reduce manual intervention by offering more automated suggestions/ideas.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships to gain trust and respect.
- Build constructive relationships to foster collaboration and cross-functional thinking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and resolve complex project challenges.
- Ability to suggest and implement automation ideas to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
