Overview:

Ready to take charge of cutting-edge projects and drive innovation? Deltek is on the hunt for a dynamic Senior Project Manager who thrives in the fast-paced world of agile software development. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead agile teams to deliver groundbreaking Deltek Cloud products and ensure timely, budget-friendly, and top-quality software releases. You’ll be the go-to person for aligning design, development, documentation, operations, and quality assurance, managing dependencies, and orchestrating smooth handoffs across engineering, product management, and release readiness teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Project Leadership: Utilize the latest project management techniques to keep projects on track, meet scope, quality, and budget goals. Run status meetings, draft progress reports, and present to our executive steering committee. Stay ahead of potential risks and manage changes proactively. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Team Empowerment: Ensure project teams are aligned and accountable for their deliverables. Foster open communication and keep everyone on the same page, no matter if your team is based in the US, India, Europe, or the Philippines. Inspire and develop your teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Product Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and owners to strategize and prioritize product roadmaps. Support key customer deployments and ensure seamless delivery.
  • Process Innovation: Lead the charge in adopting and refining agile methodologies and project management best practices. Promote continuous improvement within your teams.
  • Cross-Functional Excellence: Build and guide cross-functional teams to hit project milestones and deliverables. Coordinate all phases of product releases, including Beta, Limited Availability, General Availability, and Early Adopter Programs. Cultivate strong business relationships to ensure project alignment and buy-in.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Expertise: Extensive experience with Project Management methodologies and Agile software development.
  • Communication Skills: A master communicator who can distill complex information for diverse audiences and confidently present to executives.
  • Risk Management: Proactive in identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies. Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for project milestones and team progress.
  • Drive and Initiative: Self-motivated and action-oriented, with a track record of setting and achieving project goals while holding stakeholders accountable.
  • Technical Acumen: Sufficient technical knowledge to lead development teams, tackle complex project issues, and resolve software product challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to forge trusted relationships with team members and stakeholders, while effectively managing conflicts.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Innovative thinker with a knack for crafting solutions to complex technical and business problems.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in managing large-scale software development projects, preferably within a commercial software environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing agile projects and transitioning teams to agile methodologies.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with remote, distributed teams across global locations.
  • Experience with cloud environment software development or deployment is a plus.
