Third Line Support Engineer | Uptime Solutions | South Africa
3rd Line Engineers – Escalations / Projects – Hybrid – Remote@Uptime currently have openings for experienced 3rd Line support engineers to join our growing team of Tech Engineers. The roles involves working with a US based MSP and requires strong experience of not only being a senior escalation point but also playing a lead role in projects – O365 migrations etc.
This role is CDT time (4PM start)
Given that these roles are senior level, a broad range of skills will be needed – below are the requirements, realistically every box won’t be ticked but we will need to see evidence of many, from Sys Admin through to Networking, Virtualization and Security. Experience in the MSP Sector is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Servers – installation & troubleshooting.
- This includes on-premise servers running on VMWare or Hyper-V hypervisors as well as servers hosted in the Azure environment.
- Workstations – installation & troubleshooting.
- Switches and Firewalls – installation & troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of VLANs and more advanced networking ideal.
- Microsoft Office 365 – implementation & management.
- User & group management.
- SharePoint and Teams management/troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Azure – implementation & management.
- Server installation and management.
- Virtual networking setup and troubleshooting.
- Intune/Endpoint Management.
- Security – Understanding of vulnerabilities and remediation as well as basic best practices.
- Office 365 / Email / / MFA / DLP.
- End user recommendations for websites, phishing emails, etc.
- Firewall security settings.
- MAC OS experience.
Expectations
- Technical.
- Install technology solutions for our clients.
- Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and support our users’ networks, equipment, software, and other related services.
- Identify user problems while working within a structured problem management and resolution process.
- Work with other internal and external resources and vendors to deliver effective support services.
- Identify, document, and troubleshoot users computing issues to resolution while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Utilize best in class PSA, RMM, and other service-specific tools and technologies to deliver onsite and remote user support services.
