Job Overview

In the capacity of Staff Platform/Backend Engineer, your primary focus will be on developing and sustaining essential backend features and systems. You will engage predominantly with Python and Django, dedicating around 70-80% of your time to core backend engineering tasks. Furthermore, you will have the chance to make valuable contributions to platform engineering and DevOps initiatives, including work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend features and integrations utilizing Python and Django.
• Build and optimize continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Execute performance testing and enhance the overall reliability of the system.
• Enhance monitoring systems and identify solutions for performance bottlenecks.
• Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters effectively.
• Participate in a rotational on-call support schedule.

Required Skills

• Over 8 years of experience in Python and Django development, with a robust emphasis on backend engineering.
• Proficient in DevOps practices and containerization technologies, specifically AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated versatility in shifting between backend engineering and platform/SRE/DevOps roles as necessary.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving organizational landscape.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years in backend development, particularly with Python and Django.
• Strong familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is essential.
• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
