About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team at PAL Lighting. In this full-time role based in Caringbah, NSW, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the financial operations and reporting for our fast-growing North American organisation. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial records while providing strategic insights to support the company’s growth objectives.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing the end-to-end financial accounting and reporting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide timely and accurate information to management
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
• Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
• Liaising with external auditors to support financial audits and regulatory reporting
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance financial controls, and drive operational efficiencies

Travel Requirements:

• Travel frequency is expected to be quarterly, subject to business requirements. Headquarters based in Houston, Texas

What we’re looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within the manufacturing or retail industry
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations
• Strong communication and management skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both financial and non-financial teams
• Proficient in the use of financial software and data analysis tools, such as ERP systems and Excel
• A thorough understanding of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing finance teams
