Senior Front End Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a senior-level Front-End Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong foundation in React and a good grasp of build tooling and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications.

The role will predominantly focus on frontend development, system design and architecture, and mentoring others on the team. You’ll work closely with the co-founders of the company and will help plan and write stories and epics for features that you own.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality web applications that meet user needs and business goals.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance web applications using React.
• Leverage your strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring optimal application performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, and implement innovative solutions that align with business objectives and technical best practices.
• Take ownership of technical initiatives and provide guidance and support to team members.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for process optimization and technological advancements.
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on frontend development using React.
• Proficiency with build tools and infrastructure.
• Familiar with backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails to collaborate effectively with backend teams and contribute to full-stack solutions.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience building and consuming APIs.
• Expert knowledge of Git and experience using Git workflows (e.g., Gitflow, GitHub Flow).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools to streamline development and deployment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  

Nice to have

• Experience with major cloud platforms and their associated services
• Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with DevOps tools and practices 
• Experience working in agile environments and applying agile principles to software development projects.
• Ability to mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and lead technical initiatives.
