Responsibilities
Test Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with developers, the product owner, and end users to create comprehensive test plans and test scripts that align with product requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams to execute UAT
Test Automation Development & Execution
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
- Use tools like Selenium, NUnit, Junit, Karate, Viteest or other frameworks to execute automated tests and improve test efficiency
Defect Tracking & Reporting
- Identify, document, track, and report defects found during testing
- Ensure defects are logged, tracked, and addressed by development teams in a timely manner
Test Environment Configuration
- Set up and configure hardware, software, and test environments needed for both manual and automated testing
- Ensure configurations are aligned with testing requirements
Test Documentation & Reporting
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results reports
- Ensure documentation is thorough, organized, and up to date
Defect Management
- Oversee the defect tracking process under the guidance of senior QA engineers, ensuring defects are appropriately prioritized and addressed
Collaboration with Teams
- Work closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure testing is aligned with functional and business requirements
- Provide regular updates on test progress and results
Test Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Drive the optimization of automated testing processes, identify gaps in coverage, and recommend improvements to enhance testing efficiency and product quality
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in software quality assurance
- Minimum of two (2) years in a senior or focused on test automation
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices, with experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Extensive experience creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, NUnit, Junit, Karate, Viteest or other test automation frameworks
- Strong experience with both manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, performance, and system testing
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking systems like XRay, or similar tools
- Solid technical knowledge of IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, networks, and specialized environments
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language for writing automated test scripts
- Proven ability to write clear and comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, test plans, and detailed test reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively report on testing progress, results, and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with VA Compliance Testing (Veterans Affairs), (e.g., 508 compliance, FISMA, NIST 800-53)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams with Jira
