Payroll Specialist Essential Job Functions:
- Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to gather and validate payroll information, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes.
- Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies, investigating and resolving issues promptly and accurately.
- Generate payroll reports, including tax filings, benefits deductions, and other required reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including tax filings and benefits reconciliations.
- Support 401(k) reporting and audit.
- Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations.
- Support HR with payroll and other related tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
- Experience in multi-state payroll processing.
- Detail Oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
