If this sounds enticing to you, perhaps you’re a fit with our Applications Engineering team.
Who is Meissner?
The goal at Meissner is to be more than simply good; it is to be extraordinary. Extraordinary performance comes from extraordinary people.
Meissner as a group is passionate about helping our clients manufacture lifesaving and life enhancing drugs, therapies, and vaccines. We develop, manufacture, supply and service advanced microfiltration products and single-use systems worldwide.

Meissner Filtration Products is seeking a Senior Field Applications Specialist to join the company’s Applications Engineering team. The position will report to the Applications Engineering Supervisor based in the US.
Meissner’s Applications Engineering team is scaling globally to address rapidly expanding market opportunities. As part of a highly functioning team of engineers, you’ll be charged with adapting Meissner’s technology platforms to end-users’ processes, implementing these as a critical part of medicine manufacture. This team supports clients throughout the world by overseeing the design of novel, efficient and cost-effective process solutions while also confirming a robust supply chain, establishing market value, ensuring a seamless transition to manufacturing, and providing assistance and technical support necessary to ensure the successful implementation thereof.
How you will make an impact:
- Ensure processes and products are compliant with cGMP and compatible with the regulatory environment required by our pharmaceutical client base.
- Understand how regulatory body impacts the design and development of single-use systems specific to European clients, and relays that back to the team in Castlebar and the global Applications Engineering team.
- Establish strategic relationships directly with our customers as a trusted and reliable technical partner.
- Act as the first line of defense for customer-related questions of single-use systems and filtration inquiries as an established subject matter expert (SME) in multiple areas.
- Prepare and give presentations at industry conferences on a specific topic of their expertise.
- Participate formally in the AE Mentoring Program, as a Mentor for at least two newer team members.
- Work directly with Business Development and other relevant teams to develop and maintain positive and collaborative technical relationships with clients in EMEA and surrounding areas.
- Helps to maintain and increase product usage and support relevant internal teams by leading on-site and virtual technical discussions, presentations, and demonstrations.
- Provides frontline training and troubleshooting of issues related to implementing Meissner’s technology platforms at client facilities.
The skills and experience you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent technical discipline from a four-year college or university. Master’s degree (M.S.) preferred.
- Must have at least 5-8 years of experience as a technical specialist in single-use systems and technologies geared toward the pharmaceutical industry. Filtration experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently, with strong self-motivation and time management skills.
- Travel to client facilities and Meissner entities globally may account for 25% of time or more.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Don’t meet every single requirement? Apply anyway.
What we can offer you:
- Health Insurance
- Pension Plan
- Life Insurance
Work Environment
Occasional work may be done in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment. Powder free gloves, face masks, hairnets, gowns, and shoe covers must be worn. Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette and these particles will damage our products, only non-smokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom. As a result, the successful candidate must be a nonsmoker.
