Salary: S$113,500 plus 20% annual bonus

The Role
We are seeking a Research Manager with strong Japanese language skills to join our client’s expanding team. In this role, you will deliver quantitative and qualitative research that delves into clients’ business and marketing objectives. You will manage the provision of in-depth consumer insights into behaviours, habits, sentiments, and preferences, driving creative development, media strategy, planning, and campaign optimisation for clients’ marketing departments. Building relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, your expertise will influence their actions to support team and client goals. You will ensure efficiency through effective utilisation of people and processes.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to understand research needs, commission structured research projects, and manage their execution to deliver high-quality outputs in line with agreed briefs.
- Identify appropriate tools and techniques to conduct robust research, typically involving a mix of quantitative and qualitative analysis, including:
- Designing experiments to isolate and measure target variables.
- Writing and commissioning surveys.
- Managing the recruitment of panellists and assessing respondent data quality to ensure a robust and representative sample.
- Utilising statistical techniques such as cluster analysis.
- Conducting consumer sentiment analysis for brands and their campaigns through social insight tools and/or open-ended survey analysis.
- Produce clear and concise written summaries and data visualisations that communicate project outcomes through compelling storytelling.
- Define audiences of the most valuable consumers and identify optimal channels to reach them.
- Develop relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders through regular contact and updates.
- Provide reports on creative effectiveness, product landscapes, competitors, and markets to identify potential opportunities and shape campaign strategies.
- Support business growth by developing materials and participating in pitches.
Requirements
- Professional or fluent Japanese language skills.
- Over 5 years of experience in an analytically driven marketing role, either client or agency-side.
- A degree demonstrating strong communication and analytical skills, such as in an applied quantitative field, social science, psychology, or communication.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify business questions, analyse data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Affinity for new technologies, with an interest in working with new platforms or learning a scripting language. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SQL.
- Ability to write concise, direct, and balanced surveys that effectively generate relevant and unbiased data sets.
- Highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience interrogating databases and systems using SQL and/or other tools to obtain answers.
- A knack for presenting complex data in a way that highlights underlying trends and insights.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional communication and presentation.
Desirable
- Experience assessing and using social analytics tools.
- Experience with statistical techniques and/or programming languages such as R and Python.
- Experience using data management platforms.
