About the job
As a Sr. R&D Program Manager with SAS’ R&D Operations team, you will collaborate cross-functionally to manage a variety of programs and product initiatives. You’ll focus on objectives and goals and lead the strategy and implementation of program plans. Specifically, you will lead and track cross-divisional workstreams and R&D commitments for our most strategic customers. You may also function as a project manager for one or more projects within R&D Operations. You will interact and communicate with executive leadership, our customers, our field teams, and throughout our R&D organization.
As a Sr. R&D Program Manager, you will:
- Ensure alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and makes recommendations.
- Communicate strategic intentions to all supporting project teams and ensure alignment of the project teams to the program-level goals.
- Identify and monitor key measures related to stakeholder satisfaction and objectives attainment.
- Plan, prioritize, implement and adjust delivery schedule, scope, resourcing, and quality, based on individual program requirements per consultation with program stakeholders.
- Maintain program documentation such as program plans, schedules and status reports.
- Coordinate, communicate, and facilitate activities between team members and stakeholders to keep program on schedule and manages conflict. Coordinate risk mitigation activity and escalate as appropriate. Manage program scope and expectations. Identify and constructively negotiate conflict or areas of high risk.
- Leverage methodologies, processes, project tools, and best practices to accelerate program delivery.
- Act as central point of contact for all business and technical issues and interfaces with interested parties across the Company to ensure program success.
- Exercise operational rigor in all you do.
Required qualifications
- Eight years of project or program management experience in software industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, preferably in Computer Science or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
- An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional certification desirable or equivalent professional training preferred.
