About the company:

Started 3 years ago with a small community in Brooklyn, New York. Since then, they have grown into the largest pickup sports app in the United States. With their app, finding a one-off pickup game, league, or tournament near you is fast and easy. All you have to do is tap the app, join a game, and show up ready to play!

Responsibilities:

As Engineering Manager you will play a pivotal role in the overall technical direction of the company. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll be responsible for leading and growing the team. Your responsibilities also include:

  • Lead product and technical roadmap. Influence product planning, prioritize tasks, and ensure successful execution of the roadmap while owning technical domains and architecture.
  • Build the team with exceptional talent. Actively participate in hiring and onboarding.
  • Manage and mentor the engineering team. Review and mentor team members’ code to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Hands-on technical leadership: Actively participate in coding, while setting an example for the team through best coding practices.
  • Collaborate with business development, product, and other teams to define and execute the technical roadmap.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize development processes and improve code quality.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (desired C1).
  • Proven experience as a senior software engineer with a strong track record of delivering successful projects and at least 5+ years of cumulative industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in team management, preferably in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve their goals.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
