The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll craft engaging content for internal and external communication channels, websites, and publications. Collaborate closely with stakeholders and clients to produce innovative, eye-catching collateral that supports key team objectives.

The Role
- Design and deliver high-quality social media assets (animations, web graphics), internal communications materials (digital signage, intranet graphics), websites, publications, and infographics for diverse audiences
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Office templates, troubleshoot publishing tools, and ensure formatting and quality standards are met
- Collaborate effectively across the organisation, including with executive and ministerial offices
- Coordinate with external suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery
- Provide expert advice on graphic design and publishing standards
- Offer creative solutions and participate in key meetings to support communication objectives
- Stay current with design and publishing industry trend
- Support and uphold corporate branding guidelines, ensuring compliance with Australian Government branding and accessibility standards
The Ideal Person
You will have tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design and/or 4 years of experience working at the APS5 – APS6 level within state or federal government.
You will also have the following skills/capabilities:
- Proven graphic design skills (technical and conceptual), with the ability to adapt designs across multiple media formats
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience developing and adhering to branding standards and guidelines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments
- Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement and decision-making
- Current knowledge of design, digital, and publishing industry trends
Salary / Rate
- 6 – 12-month non-ongoing contract or s26 temporary transfer for permanent APS staff
- APS5 – APS6 salary guide: $86k – $110k + 15.4% Super
- Flexibility to work from home up to two days per week
- Location: Canberra
