Technical Project Manager (Remote)

OpenVPN is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee our development team. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science, 3+ years of experience in the field, and good understanding of networking and security concepts. In this role, you will be responsible for the team’s performance, oversee the development process, act as a project manager and Scrum master.

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science

• 
  Experience as Senior developer and/or Tech Lead

• 
  Understanding of networking and security concepts

• 
  At least 3 years of experience leading software development projects in networking or security as a Project Manager

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification is a plus

• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget

• Proven experience in creating project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines, resources, and scope

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria

• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning

• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and progress

• Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management

• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and adapt plans as necessary to ensure project success

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by conducting post-project reviews and applying lessons learned to future projects

• Take ownership of the project and drive the software development process through all stages of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)

• Review and improve the performance of individual team members
