We seek a highly skilled and experienced, customer focused, technical support engineer.
The Role
You will play a crucial role in configuring, monitoring, enhancing and supporting our Cloud IT infrastructure, systems, and data by following industry-standard best practices, thereby ensuring optimum system availability for the business.
- Act as an 2nd/3rd line escalation point for the internal helpdesk dealing with users’ incidents and requests.
- Experience in Endpoint Troubleshooting – Windows/MacOS/iOS
- You will be responsible for developing and improving existing solutions using Microsoft Technologies such as Windows, Hyper-V, Azure, M365 ensuring 24/7 availability and compliance with industry best practices.
- SAAS & SSO/SAML Management and Setup
- Ensure Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans are up to date.
- Annual process testing.
- Work with the Head of IT to ensure robust IT security, data protection, and compliance for the entire IT function.
- Delivering projects to improve IT systems and services.
- Work with the head of IT to simplify and consolidate Connect Fibre’s IT estate.
- Mentor and support 1st line engineers and be their escalation point.
- Develop and document system-related best practices and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are fit for purpose.
- Act as the SME for all aspects of the IT infrastructure, including Azure, M365, Intune.
The Candidate
A seasoned engineer with a proven background in delivering, maintaining, and documenting best practices across IT cloud and on-prem infrastructure and systems.
- Excellent Customer Service Experience with a can-do attitude, ensuring Connect Fibre staff are supported to the highest level.
- Help Desk Experience 2nd/3rd Line.
- Experience in Implementing and maintaining Azure cloud solutions and infrastructure, including Entra, MFA, conditional access, SSO, azure networking and virtual machine deployment and monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of M365 including Office 365 administration, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint and Security/Compliance Centre
- Working knowledge of Hyper-V
- Exposure to Linux system administration beneficial
- A desire to work towards and complete Microsoft Certifications for IT Professionals
- Self-motivated team player with strong work ethic and the ability to “get things done”.
- Articulate, approachable with a confident demeanour and the ability to convey complex information in simple terms.
