Indigenous Mining Services Pty Ltd (IMS) is a 100% Indigenous-owned not-for-profit organisation that provides facilities and property management, labour hire, and related services to Western Australian customers and communities.

Our mission is to deliver efficient, high-quality services while creating sustainable employment opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals. With over 70 employees, IMS operates from a Perth Management Centre and service hubs in Hedland and Newman, with plans to increase the network of service hubs across the wider Pilbara and metropolitan Perth within 12 months.

About the Role

We are seeking two Non-Executive Directors to join the IMS Board, as we require that not less than 50% of Directors must be Indigenous at least one of the new Directors will be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of the strategic and operational context of the services IMS offers, along with:

• Experience in shaping and monitoring governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
• A proven track record of growing or creating enterprises with both social and commercial objectives

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Corporate governance qualifications (e.g., AICD)
• Strategic planning expertise
• Effective governance qualities, including strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork

Commitment

The Board meets eight times annually, with six meetings in Perth and two in Port Hedland. Additionally, a strategic planning workshop is held in Perth each year.
