We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our Data Management team. This role is a dynamic opportunity to be a key player in a team that ensures the seamless operation and security of our database systems. You’ll be a technical expert, providing solutions that drive our retail business forward. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver top-notch systems that support our commercial objectives. Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of databases.
• Contributing to improvements in database standards.
• Providing technical expertise in the development, implementation, and maintenance of database systems and processes.
• Assisting in the delivery and support of technology solutions that enable our Retail business to meet its objectives.
• Designing, prototyping, developing, and documenting new product offerings and enhancing existing products and tools, while maintaining a high level of cybersecurity.
• Maintaining and Improving Data Governance and management practices

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years in Database Systems Operations.
• SQL Server Expertise: Managing MS SQL HA, Integration Services, Analysis Services, PowerBI/Reporting Services, and Windows PowerShell.
• Oracle Expertise: Managing multiple Oracle Enterprise Edition databases, in a Unix/Linux(AIX preferred) environment.
• PostgreSQL and Google Alloy: Experience in Cloud based PostgreSQL DB management and support, including solution design and implementation. Familiarity with Google Alloy an advantage
• SQL/Oracle Fluency: In-depth knowledge of SQL internals and database structure with demonstrated ability to read and write SQL and T-SQL.
• Database Performance Optimization: Familiarity with SQL performance monitoring and tuning tools (Foglight, OEM, TOAD, Oracle SqlDeveloper).
• Technical Skills: Experience with Cloud services, Network Attached Storage, Windows Server Administration, Shell scripting, Unix based systems, and Networking concepts.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Leadership Potential: Drive to excel, mentor junior staff, and continuously learn.
• Education: Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., IT, programming, development).
